"Pear Trees at Sunset"- New Abstract Landscape Inspired by Spring

Image
"Pear Trees at Sunset" 24" x 30" mixed media abstract on gallery wrapped canvas I really look forward to the start of Spring. It means winter is over and that color is returning to nature along with the warm weather. I love to see the pear trees near my home start to bloom. All that fluffy whiteness against the lovely bed buds just coming out. Of course, this year the pear trees bloomed before the red buds because of the warm winter we had. materials -acrylic paint, oil pastels, gold ink, graphite pencil, canvas, gesso, spray color ink techniques -brush work, finger painting, knife, spraying, mark making See my terms about shipping and returns Detail photos

Really not sure about the direction of this one. I tried some new things and did not do any molding paste first. I just started painting. I like the colors though. So glad it's warmer now. I feel more like painting when I am not shivering. 36 x 36 gallery wrapped mixed media on canvas-acrylic paint, graphite pencil, oil pastels, spray paint, ink, interference paint, gold ink, gesso Techniques used-brush painting, finger painting, drawing, stamping, dripping, stenciling

Your Brain On Art

Yes, I agree with this article. This is why I do abstracts. I want people to be pulled in to my work. To study it and find new things. To have an emotional connection to it http://www.salon.com/2016/ 12/18/ this-is-your-brain-on-art-a -neuroscientists-lessons-o n-why-abstract-art-makes-o ur-brains-hurt-so-good/ #.WFhPdMhWGsI.facebook (Rotko)
