Bio
I have always felt the need to communicate my
response to my world around me and within me with art. My emotions came out
through color and line and marks. All through my school years and some college
classes I went from drawing, pen and ink, printing, pottery, and sculpture,
oil, and watercolors. I finally settled on acrylics as being the most versatile
medium for me.
After having to quit art school to become a
caregiver to my mother I was self-taught. I studied on my own, using books,
magazines, videos, and studying the works of the masters. The Impressionists
and Expressionists were my main influences. It was during those years that I
began using other mediums in a laying process in my work to convey my dreams,
stories, and the landscape that I love-The North Carolina foothills, the South Carolina
coast, and now Northeast Tennessee where I now live.
