My thoughts behind this piece is that I wanted to capture the serene quiet glow of a frosty morning. The soft colors and cool shadows and the coppery brown of dead leaves. You cannot see it well, but there is much texture in the painting due to molding paste. I also used white glitter to give the "frosty" look. This abstract modern painting was painted on gallery wrapped acid free canvas with acrylic paint. Texture was achieved with the use of a palette knife. A final coat of fine art varnish was applied to preserve the painting. I looked up the colors for this Christmas and lemon seems to be one of the color choices. I choose to use it as a background color and used my bird cutter to make these lovely pastel feathered friends. I stamped the background with gold stars and snowflakes and embellished with gems.

This is a card I made last night. I really do feel in the Christmas mood. I can't wait to get my Christmas lights up, but I am forcing myself to wait until after Thanksgiving.
